Mr. Anderson earned his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1975 and has been practicing law ever since. Mr. Anderson began his legal career working for himself in an office space provided by his two mentors, retired Judge James W. Edson, and retired Judge James P. Zarifes.

Mr. Anderson is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. In 2007, the Long Beach Bar Association named Mr. Anderson “Lawyer of the Year” in recognition of his outstanding reputation and many years of service in the community. In addition, since the mid-1980s, Mr. Anderson has served as Chairman of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Long Beach Bar Association. Mr. Anderson is a longtime member of the National and Southern California Chapters of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections; and a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association’s and State of California Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Trust Sections. Mr. Anderson also frequently has articles published in the “Long Beach Reporter,” a legal news journal.

When he is not in the office, Mr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife of over 40 years and his six grandchildren. In addition, Mr. Anderson has spent 20 years studying and training in Kempo Karate. Mr. Anderson is currently a fourth degree black belt and volunteers several nights each week teaching self-defense to children and adults. He enjoys working with children from diverse backgrounds and seeks to instill discipline, respect, and self-control in his students.

John T. Anderson, Esq.

Mrs. Norman is one of Mr. Anderson’s daughters and has been working at The Law Office of John T. Anderson since she was sixteen. She attended Western State University College of Law in California where she earned both her B.S. in Law and her Juris Doctorate degrees.

While at Western State, Mrs. Norman completed the Emphasis Program in Taxation, was a Special Projects Editor for the school's Law Review program, and was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, International. Currently, Mrs. Norman works part-time at The Law Office of John T. Anderson.

Lisa R. Norman, Esq.

Mrs. Protzmann is Mr. Anderson’s third daughter and has been working at The Law Office of John T. Anderson since she was nineteen. Mrs. Protzmann received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Irvine. She subsequently earned her Juris Doctorate from Oakbrook College of Law. Mrs. Protzmann works part-time and homeschools her three children.

Erin M. Protzmann, Esq.

Gloria LeCou, J.D.

Ms. LeCou is Mr. Anderson’s Legal Assistant. With over 45 years of legal experience, Ms. LeCou has devoted the last 12 years to estate planning and trust administration. Ms. LeCou earned her Juris Doctorate from Pacific Coast University School of Law in California.

For years, Ms. LeCou gained experience by working for other attorneys and owning her own paralegal practice. Since joining The Law Office of John T. Anderson over 12 years ago, Ms. LeCou has administered hundreds of trusts and has helped resolve numerous complex estate planning and elder law matters. Her years of experience are an indispensible resource to clients and our office.

Donna DeGelas

Going through probate? If so, Mrs. DeGelas is the person you want assisting you. Mrs. DeGelas has been a Probate Paralegal for over 35 years. She has worked at The Law Office of John T. Anderson for over 15 years. The probate process can be overwhelming, confusing, time consuming, and complex.

Mrs. DeGelas has the experience and knowledge necessary to thoroughly answer your questions and successfully probate an estate in as little time as possible.

Danielle Dean

Mrs. Dean is likely the first person you will encounter when you call or visit our office. Knowledgeable, friendly, and always eager to answer questions and please clients, Mrs. Dean is Ms. LeCou’s daughter and has provided secretarial services at The Law Office of John T. Anderson for almost ten years.

John T. Anderson, Jr.

John is Mr. Anderson’s youngest child and the newest addition to our staff. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Long Beach (“CSULB”) with a B.S. in Business/Finance. While at CSULB, he was on the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. He is currently a part-time student and in his third year at Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California. At Western State, he is a member of the Law Review, the Dean’s Honors Circle, and the school’s Honor Roll.

When not studying, he works as a law clerk at our office and seeks opportunities to appear in court with his father and sisters and to learn from their years of experience.
